Youth Guitar
Fun. Affordable. Inspiring.
Hey, I’m Dan and I’ve been teaching kids for more than 25 years. I can tell you from experience, there are only two things that make children successful with music.
They have to stick with it to get anything out of it.
They have to practice.
It’s easy to sit in a classroom with a student and show them a few things in a way that’s fun. But a true, master-level teacher will work hard to inspire your child to be a life-long musician. Because sticking to it is what really matters.
I believe I have to teach the love of playing music before I can teach the skills musicianship. “Making” kids practice never works: If you push the skills before they love it, they quit. But if they love playing music, then they want to learn the skills.
Though private lessons are available, I teach many my young students in semi-private cohorts where they can learn alongside their peers. This makes class more fun because we can play musical games, jam together, support each other’s victories and, perhaps most importantly, help kids make friends who are passionate about music.

This class is a chance for you, your child, and I to meet and start getting to know each other. We’ll cover a few things on the guitar and make sure they go home with something meaningful to practice.
If the class goes well, you can sign up for regular lessons for $160/mo, but there’s no obligation to do so. No charge - this is class is my gift to you.
Why sign your child up for lessons with me?
Experience. I’ve been teaching kids for about 30 years. My teaching style is a wholesome balance of “fun and firm” that I can adapt to any child’s learning style.
I’m also a well educated musician, my students learn things the right way - and grow into excellent musicians.
Support. I’m always available for questions, texts, and videos so that your child knows what to practice between classes. I want them to succeed.
Unlimited Growth. I work with kids and beginners, but I also have a host of professional artists I work with as well. I can take your child from their first lesson all the way to their first album.
Performance Opportunities. Kids should get a chance to show friends and family what they learn! We have concerts at some of the coolest venues in town.
Affordable Pricing Without Compromise. Because I teach in semi-private format, students share the cost of my time. The average cost of an hour of lessons is under $40. And because kids learn with their peers, get the chance to jam together, and share in a supportive “team” environment they actually learn more effectively than if they were alone. (Fully private lessons area also available where it’s a better fit.)
